Help your students transition into class and get focused before jumping into a lesson by incorporating ready-made NGPF resources. You can use the same type of bell ringer every day or mix it up with these four ideas. Plus, a bonus for all you math teachers!
Question of the Day is a bell ringer about a financial topic that is relevant, current, and prompts lively discussion in the classroom. It’s the perfect way to warm up your students before a lesson or to introduce a new topic.
Our team produces new questions every Monday through Thursday during the school year. We’re starting them up again on August 12. Subscribe to the blog to get them delivered daily.
View Question of the Day archive and learn how other teachers use them.
Every Friday during the school year, NGPF releases a new episode of FinCap Friday (short for Financial Capability) hosted by the energetic Yanely Espinal, also known as @MissBeHelpful.
FinCap Fridays combine a five-question competition with a short video about a trending topic to engage students and build relevance to what they’re learning in your class.
View the FinCap Friday library and see creative ways other educators use them.
Help students develop their financial vocabulary by introducing new terms at the start of each class or each week. You can introduce the word in context and have students practice making inferences about what the word means; create a quick word wall activity as a visual reminder; or have them maintain a journal with definitions and drawings.
View the Personal Finance Dictionary and read up on five ways you can use the dictionary as an activity.
Our Video Library contains dozens of Edpuzzle videos categorized by unit so you can choose one that aligns with your current topic or upcoming lesson. We’ve already embedded multiple-choice questions to assess your students as they watch.
Note: You do not need an Edpuzzle account to watch videos and answer questions. You will only need to create an account if you want to record student answers.
