Exciting news to share about our semester course being used for dual-enrollment in Vermont
RANDOLPH, Vermont, November 9, 2017 - Vermont Tech recently approved a dual enrollment personal finance course that will be offered in the spring of 2018. Wayne Goulet, the Randolph Technical Career Center teacher who has been approved to teach the course for Vermont Tech, will use resources from Next Gen Personal Finance for his instruction.
The goal of this course is to remove the mystery from the personal financial planning process and replace it with the tools needed to take charge of personal finances and life. Personal financial planning provides major benefits that help marshal and control financial resources more effectively and facilitate an improved standard of living. Because the emphasis in this course is on planning, it examines various areas to set and implement plans aimed at achieving financial goals. The course will cover financial statements and budgets; managing basic assets, credit, insurance needs, and investments; and planning for retirement.
Tim Ranzetta, founder of NGPF commented on this new development: “We are ecstatic to hear that our resources will support Mr. Goulet’s course where Vermont students will also earn college credit. It is great to see more young people having access to high-quality financial education and practical knowledge so they can thrive. That’s our mission and it’s why we are thrilled to have another educator connect with our free resources.”
Wayne Goulet had this to say, "I'm very excited to offer a much needed Personal Finance course to not only my students at Randolph Technical Career Center (RTCC) but also to the students at adjoining Randolph Union High School through Vermont Tech. Next Gen Personal Finance has been a helpful partner and I use their resources in my classroom on a daily basis. They do a fantastic job keeping their content relevant and up-to-date. I look forward to helping my students earn college-level credit and learn the tools necessary to become financially literate and fiscally competent after graduation and beyond."

Tim's saving habits started at seven when a neighbor with a broken hip gave him a dog walking job. Her recovery, which took almost a year, resulted in Tim getting to know the bank tellers quite well (and accumulating a savings account balance of over $300!). His recent entrepreneurial adventures have included driving a shredding truck, analyzing executive compensation packages for Fortune 500 companies and helping families make better college financing decisions. After volunteering in 2010 to create and teach a personal finance program at Eastside College Prep in East Palo Alto, Tim saw firsthand the impact of an engaging and activity-based curriculum, which inspired him to start a new non-profit, Next Gen Personal Finance.
