Given the success of our first NGPF On-Demand pilot, we are piloting a new set of modules! NGPF On-Demand is officially scheduled to launch in the new year, but in the meantime, we would love your feedback on four new modules. Plus, this allows you to continue learning and earning NGPF Academy credits throughout the holiday break!

What is NGPF On-Demand?

NGPF On-Demand is a teacher professional development opportunity that can be completed anytime, anywhere, and at your own pace. 

What modules are available in this pilot? 

We currently have four On-Demand modules available until January 4, 2021.

• FinTech Apps: Brush up on your knowledge of the FinTech industry and popular apps
• Mutual Funds & Index Funds: Define and compare traditional mutual funds vs index funds 
• Personal Finance in an Age of Pandemic: Learn about trends in savings, spending, and payment habits
• Renters Insurance: Learn how it works and why it's essential coverage for young adults

Additional Details:

• We are currently offering four additional pilot modules to build your knowledge on FinTech, Current Events, Mutual Funds & Index Funds, and Renter’s Insurance.
• Each module is built using the Nearpod platform with multiple engagement strategies including videos, articles, quizzes, collaborative boards, and more!
• You can learn at your own pace with each module designed to be completed in approximately one hour. 
• Successful completion of a module will earn you 1 NGPF Academy credit.
• This pilot period runs from today, December 14, 2020 through January 4, 2021. 
• This asynchronous professional development opportunity is offered at no cost to educators!

 NGPF On-Demand FAQs:  

Q: Is there a recommended device from which to access NGPF On-Demand?

A: We strongly recommend using a laptop or PC. If you must use your phone, we recommend opening the module in a phone browser (Safari, Chrome) rather than through the Nearpod application (some functions do not work properly within the application)

Q: I am experiencing technical difficulties with the Nearpod, is there anything I can do?

A: Please make sure you're going through the slides at a reasonable pace and allow the slide to load before going onto the next slide. If the Nearpod freezes, please close any other tabs you may have open and try refreshing the page.

Q: What happens after I complete the NGPF On-Demand module?

A: Within 7 days, an NGPF Team Member will review your participation and responses, then grant credit in your NGPF Academy. Your responses to questions will be read and assessed for quality; be sure to put forth your best effort!

Q: I keep reading about NGPF Academy. What is it?

A: NGPF Academy is a program to recognize and reward educators for their commitment to lifelong learning and professional development. Teachers earn Academy credits for participating in NGPF professional development including Certification Courses, Virtual PDs, Virtual FinCamps and now NGPF On-Demand. As teachers reach 10 hour milestones they earn NGPF swag and Amazon gift cards. More details here. 

Q: What if I start the module, but do not finish? 

A: You will not receive NGPF Academy credit until the module is completed.

Q: Do I need an NGPF Teacher Account to complete the On-Demand modules? 

A: In order to earn NGPF Academy credits, you will need to have a verified NGPF Teacher account, which is free. You can sign up by going to ngpf.org and clicking on the upper right "Create Free Account." 

Q: When is the deadline to complete NGPF On-Demand modules? 

A: The deadline for this pilot phase of NGPF On-Demand is January 4, 2021. All modules completed by 11:59pm Pacific Time on January 4, 2021 will receive NGPF Academy credit. 

Q: What happens after January 4th? 

A: The NGPF On-Demand team will be analyzing the survey results from the pilot period and other feedback to iterate on the product. Look for a full launch of NGPF On-Demand in January 2021! 

Q: Will I receive a copy of the NGPF On-Demand module? 

A: After the pilot ends on January 4, 2021, an email will be sent to teachers who have received credit for the module with a clickable copy of the Nearpod slide deck and additional resources used in the module.
