Question of the Day: What percentage of Gen Z employees refuse to apply for jobs that don’t list a salary?

Gen Z isn’t playing the job-hunting guessing game anymore.

Answer:

58

Questions:

  • Should companies be legally required to include salary ranges in job postings? Why or why not?
  • Besides salary, what are the top three things you would consider before accepting a job?
  • If all companies became fully transparent with salaries, how do you think it would impact the job market?

Here are the ready-to-go slides for this Question of the Day that you can use in your classroom.

Behind the numbers (Newsweek):

"According to a new report from EduBirdie, companies may be scaring off the younger generation since 58 percent of Gen Z-ers surveyed said they won't apply for a job if the salary isn't disclosed ahead of time. In addition, 71 percent of Gen Z-ers said they believe salaries should be openly discussed in the workplace."
