Teacher Tip: MOVE: Paycheck Scavenger Hunt

Get students out of their seats - moving, collaborating, and learning - with the NGPF activity, MOVE: Paycheck Scavenger Hunt

In this activity, students race against the clock, reading paychecks and calculating net pay, to complete an entire scavenger hunt loop. As they solve each Scavenger Hunt Card, their answer will lead them to the next one.

In the Teacher Tip video, Amanda Volz will walk you through the activity and set you up for success by sharing what you need to prep and ideas for classroom implementation.

Bonus! NGPF has another MOVE activity in the Taxes Unit - MOVE: Your Tax Dollar in Action. This activity also has an accompanying Teacher Tip video

What are Teacher Tip videos?

Teacher Tip videos are short videos exploring a range of NGPF activities through the eyes of veteran personal finance teacher and NGPF super user, Amanda Volz. Teacher Tip videos are designed to guide teachers through the activity and offer tips, tricks, and ideas for implementing the activity in the classroom.

Where can I find Teacher Tip videos?

Teacher Tip video can be found in two places:

  1. Linked at the top of the activity document. Note: not all NGPF activities have a Teacher Tip video.
  2. In the Teacher Tip Videos section of the NGPF Video Library
