FAQs

What is Finance in 40?

A 40-minute class period helping students explore financial literacy skills during Financial Literacy Month. Any teacher, of any subject, working with students in grades 6-12 can participate!

Finance in 40 begins on April 1, 2025 and ends on April 30, 2025. You may participate during any instructional class period you have available in April, which is Financial Literacy Month.

This challenge is open to all U.S. high school teachers, regardless of subject area!

Make sure students are using the latest version of their preferred browser, as outdated versions may have compatibility issues.

If you're using school computers or networks, consult with your IT department to ensure that each of the NGPF Arcade game websites are not blocked or restricted.

Once you complete the lesson, you can print out certificates for your students and encourage them to continue the financial conversations at home with their family members.

If you have instructional time you can dedicate to personal financial literacy instruction throughout April and beyond, check out the full NGPF Curriculum

When you register to participate in Finance in 40, you automatically are entered into the raffle for a chance to win one of twenty-five $500 prizes in DonorsChoose credits for your classroom. You do not need to submit any additional information or forms. All winners will be notified via email on Monday, May 5, 2025.

You can select any lesson or activity teaching personal financial literacy skills to students in April. Finance in 40 lessons make it easy for you by curating an NGPF Question of the Day with an NGPF Arcade game and reflection questions.

Feel free to select any other resource that you would like to compete with your students, but be mindful that lessons and activities can vary in length and duration.

You are free to use the logo and name in connection to your event or programming as long as it remains free to all who attend and does not require students, schools, or anyone who participates in any way to pay for participation.
